We already know that Apple is planning to introduce the iPhone 15 series in September.

Launch Of iPhone 15 Pro Max Variant Can Get Delayed Upto October: Find Out Why?

Notably, the Pro Max member of the iPhone family will be the first smartphone with a periscope camera.

Delay In iPhone 15 Pro Max Shipments

This feature could now cause a delay as Sony is allegedly unable to supply enough sensor time, said one of the analysts.

The disruption caused by this delay is most likely to push the iPhone 15 Pro Max deliveries back by four weeks according to 9to5Mac, who quoted the “major equity analyst note”.

While that being said, the Apple iPhone 15 series announcement is likely to take place on September 13.

Its pre-orders are set to open on September 15, and deliveries should commence seven days later.

The Pro Max deliveries could be pushed between October 6 and October 13, with the expected three to four-week delay.

Not The First Time

It appears that the delays in production are nothing new to Apple.

For instance, the iPhone XR arrived later than the XS series, it was due to the late shipments of components to Pegatron.

The same happened two years later, when the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max had to make way for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.

During that time, there were reports that the screen deliveries were behind schedule, as OLED makers LG and BOE weren’t able to keep up with requirements.

The event had pushed Apple to increase the demand from Samsung.

As there was no news in the past few weeks, suggesting that Cupertino has managed to address the issue.

Besides this the other possible reasons for this delay could be the recent Covid-19 restrictions in China which is a major manufacturing hub for Apple.

It cannot be denied that the supply chain is also in the process of recovering from the pandemic.

Apart from this there are still some shortages of components which may also contribute to this delay.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is still expected to be a major release for Apple despite the delay.

Apple is planning to sell fewer iPhones this year compared to last year, a recent 9to5Mac report suggests.

The company is expected to make 77 million iPhone 15 units by the end of the year, down from the previous predictions of 83 million in the past, said the analyst Jeff Pu.

This cut down in production is affected by the supply chain issues and potential price hike.
