The interview started with the Visa Officer (VO) requesting the applicant’s I-20 form, a key document for U.S. student visas.

Upon noting the student had received a large scholarship, the officer asked how the remaining costs of the undergraduate Neuroscience program would be funded.

The student confidently explained that the rest of the funding would come from parents’ savings, which is often a difficult point for many applicants.

When asked why they chose Neuroscience as a major, the student provided a clear, enthusiastic, and well-prepared explanation, highlighting its relevance as a STEM field.

The Visa Officer appeared satisfied and ended the interview with, “I am approving your visa.” The student responded with a smile and thanked the officer.

The student observed that many applicants before them had been rejected, mostly because they were unprepared and unable to clearly articulate their academic choices or financial plans.

Reflecting on the experience, the student said, “I was paying close attention to the other interviews,” and emphasized that being proactive, prepared, and confident was crucial to success.

Indian Students Bunking Classes In USA? Their Visa Can Be Cancelled!

In a rare and direct advisory, the US Embassy in India has issued a serious warning to international students—especially Indians—about strict enforcement of F-1 student visa rules. Citing increased immigration checks under the renewed Trump 2.0 administration, the embassy made it clear that even minor violations could lead to deportation and visa cancellation.

On May 27, 2025, the US Embassy reminded students of their responsibilities under the F-1 visa program. These include:

  • Staying enrolled full-time
  • Attending all scheduled classes
  • Notifying the institution of any academic changes
  • Avoiding unauthorized employment or internships

Failure to comply with these rules can lead to immediate revocation of the student visa—no warning, no second chances.
