Pune based electric vehicle manufacturer Kinetic Green has commercially launched the E-Luna electric scooter priced at an introductory ₹69,990. The model secured 40,000 buyer enquiries since pre-bookings opened on January 26th indicating strong market interest in indigenous EV offerings even amid funding winter that has battered startups.
Kinetic claims in-house teams helmed design, engineering and production of the value scooter targeting mass electrification through affordable urban transport alternatives. Localization also enables competitive ownership costs under ₹2500 monthly factoring rising fuels.
100,000 Sales Target for Fiscal 2025
Founder Sulajja Firodia revealed plans to sell 100,000 E-Luna units in financial year 2025 buoyed by demand penetration across Tier 2 and 3 cities beyond metros. This taps potential customer migrations from conventional petrol bikes seeking cleaner commuting.
She added that minimalist styling balancing practicality and low running costs aims transforming consumer mindsets through purpose-built EVs like E-Luna rather than just retrofitted models. The company intends leading sustainability-focused mobility transitions aligning with national objectives.
Hi-Tech Development Via Group Synergies
Kinetic Group Chairman Arun Firodia explained that in-house brand Kinetic Engineering developed the unique chassis frame alongside associate firms building respective transmission systems, motor and battery components through collaborative efforts.
Leveraging proven R&D strengths within group ecosystem enabled faster turnaround and cost optimization otherwise challenging for independent startups facing fund draughts amid market downturns. Swappable batteries add further flexibility alongside 110kms claimed range.
