The telecom major Reliance Jio has expanded its 5G services across more cities in India, taking the total count to 72 now.
On Jan 6, 2023, Jio launched its 5G services in four additional cities, including Jabalpur, Ludhiana, Gwalior and Siliguri, after launching the same in Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack a day before on Jan 5, 2023.
This makes Reliance Jio the only telecom provider to launch its 5G services across all the major cities in the central state Madhya Pradesh, including Indore as well as Bhopal. It is also the 5G services provider in Ludhiana, the company said.
The development in Madhya Pradesh comes ahead of the unveiling of coveted events like Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and Invest MP – Global Investor Summit at Indore, said Reliance Jio in a statement.
“We are happy to announce the launch of Jio True 5G in four more cities. Jio is the operator of choice for users in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab and the most loved technology brand, and this launch is a testament to Jio’s continued commitment to the people of these states,” said the telecom leader’s spokesperson.
Last year on Oct 4, Reliance Jio launched its 5G mobile services in major Indian cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Varanasi, later expanding to Chennai and Nathdwara on Oct 22.
In the following month on Nov 10, 2022, the Mumbai-based Reliance Jio launched 5G services in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and then in Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad on Nov 11, the very next day.
On Nov 23, the telecom giant launched its 5G services in Pune and began providing the same to 33 districts across Gujarat, starting Nov 23.
Temples in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh starting getting access to Jio’s 5G services on Dec 14 while those in Kochi and Guruvayur started to get their share of exposure to 5G services of Reliance Jio on Dec 20.
