Citing Statista data, Jio notes that India’s internet penetration rate grew from 14% in 2014 to over 52% in 2024.

Jio positions itself as a driving force in reshaping digital life across Punjab, aligning with national goals such as Digital India and Viksit Bharat by 2047.

As of February 2025, the digital population of India reached 806 million active users, supported by increasing internet penetration and the Digital India initiative, according to Statista and Jio.

Since its inception, Jio claims to handle nearly 60% of India’s mobile data traffic, as stated in a blog post dated April 30, 2025.

Jio emphasizes that it is “successfully addressing the challenge of last-mile connectivity” through AirFiber, especially in remote areas.

In Punjab, AirFiber services have expanded to border villages like Manwal Mangwal, Dera Baba Nanak, and Kalewala, integrating these regions into the digital network.

Jio states: “Earlier, these areas lacked reliable internet, hampering internet connectivity. With the introduction of JioAirFiber, the entire Punjab including these villages now enjoying truly uninterrupted super-fast 5G internet—improving the digital life, and infrastructure.”

Jio’s rural plans start Rs 599, as per Airfiber listings.
