However, fields like Medicine, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Sciences are excluded.
To qualify, applicants must be under 21 years of age and have at least 80% aggregate in HSC/SSC (CBSE or ICSE board). Science stream students must have studied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English, while Commerce applicants must have taken Mathematics, Economics, Business Studies, and English. Japanese language proficiency is essential, with a minimum JLPT N3 certificate recommended; N4 may be considered if the student is preparing for N3.

Selected students will receive a monthly living allowance of JPY 145,000 (approx. ₹85,000), with additional accommodation subsidies—JPY 5,000 per month for the first year and JPY 25,000 from the second year onward.
