Indian travel company ixigo has revealed that it is broadening its partnership with OpenAI to significantly enhance the use of artificial intelligence across its travel services.

This expanded alliance will extend across ixigo’s subsidiaries, ConfirmTkt and Abhibus, with the goal of strengthening AI capabilities throughout the group.
ixigo Expands OpenAI Partnership to Accelerate AI Integration Across Its Travel Platforms
Through this collaboration, the company aims to introduce more AI-led experiences for its large customer base, which exceeds half a billion users.
As part of the agreement, ixigo will utilize OpenAI’s Enterprise API platforms to implement sophisticated AI systems and advanced coding models into its operations.
These AI tools will be integrated across the company’s entire technology infrastructure, enabling more automated and self-operating workflows.
The broader objective is to create a smarter, more streamlined operational structure that can support expanding services while improving product development speed.
The partnership is expected to bring new AI-powered applications, including autonomous digital agents and contextual AI assistants.
These innovations are intended to simplify complicated internal processes while also delivering a smoother and more intuitive experience for customers.
AI Integration Aims to Deliver Personalized and Seamless End-to-End Travel Experiences
By embedding AI into key workflows, the company plans to offer travelers more personalized and seamless journeys, covering everything from trip discovery to final booking.
This step builds on ixigo’s long-standing involvement with artificial intelligence, which began as early as 2012.
Over the years, the company has already automated about 90 percent of its customer support interactions across voice and chat channels.
That earlier investment in AI has created a solid base for deeper and more advanced technological integration moving forward.
The collaboration also aligns directly with ixigo’s 2025 initiative known as “Project Trishul,” a three-part AI strategy focused on boosting efficiency, driving revenue growth, and fostering disruption.
Under this framework, the company seeks to improve operational leverage, develop smarter monetization strategies, and expand agent-driven capabilities across its platforms.
The integration with OpenAI is expected to accelerate the execution of these strategic priorities at scale throughout the organization.
Group Co-CEOs Rajnish Kumar and Aloke Bajpai shared their ambition for ixigo to evolve into an “AI diffusion company.”
They explained that the strengthened partnership would fast-track the adoption of AI and agent-based workflows both within the company and for its users.
Their broader vision is to enable customers and business partners to make fuller use of the advantages that AI technologies can offer.
This development also mirrors a wider shift in India’s competitive online travel market, where companies are increasingly turning to advanced AI tools for innovation.
