In a surprising revelation, the recently released ultra-thin phones including Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple iPhone Air haven’t received a good market response as their sales are lower than expected.

Market Analysts Doubting The Existence of Successor Editions
Considering the coldest response, now experts have doubts regarding the existence of their successor editions, as they are expected to launch in 2026.
In one such event, Apple has delayed the iPhone Air 2’s arrival amid weak sales of the current generation as mentioned in a latest media report.
Prior to this, some reports claimed that the Apple iPhone Air 2 may debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s first foldable phone in September 2026.
But this has changed as some latest reports state that Apple may skip the 2026 launch for the second-generation iPhone Air due to weak sales.
It appears that Foxconn, one of Apple’s supply chain partners, has dismantled iPhone Air production lines and aims to complete production within this month as per the report.
Similarly, the other supplier, Luxair, also stopped iPhone Air production in October reportedly.
Already it is being said that Apple has internally removed the second-generation iPhone Air from its 2026 product roadmap.
iPhone Air 2 Lunch Date
When it comes to the iPhone Air 2, it is expected to be thinner and lighter than the first-generation model despite packing a larger battery and a vapour chamber cooling unit reportedly.
Besides this, it could also feature a dual 48MP camera setup on the back as claimed in the recent reports.
This upcoming lineup is expected to be powered by the Apple A20, the company’s first 2nm chip, which is designed to drive the iPhone 18 lineup.
During the first half of 2027, Apple plans to launch the standard iPhone 18 along with the affordable iPhone 18e as suggested by the reports.
With all those rumours going on, it remains to be seen whether the second-generation iPhone Air will debut alongside the iPhone 18 and 18e, or it goes completely off the company’s roadmap.
