Apple has recently announced September 9, 2025, as the date of its next major launch event.

iPhone 17 Serious Can Have No Slot For SIM Cards! E-SIM Can Be The Only Option..

This holds a significance for the iPhone enthusiasts as this is where the iPhone 17 series is expected to make its debut.

iPhone 17 Series May Launch With eSIM-only

As anticipated, Apple may be introducing the iPhone 17 lineup with four distinct models including the standard iPhone 17, a thinner and more lightweight iPhone 17 Air, as well as the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Interestingly, there appears to be a new report from MacRumors just before the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup.

Now, Apple is planning to make its latest iPhone 17 series lineup only e-SIM compatible in several international markets reportedly.

This appears to be a well planned and  long-awaited move from Apple as the company prepares to move away from physical SIM card slots, helping cut costs in other areas.

As per the rumours, iPhone 17 lineup will debut with an upgraded take on the Dynamic Island further delivering a smoother and more intuitive experience.

Besides this, both the regular and Pro editions are likely to receive advanced interactive functions and polished visual elements in the interface, driven by the next-generation iOS 26 platform.

Meanwhile Industry insiders and experts are eagerly awaiting the launch of the iPhone series and getting curious to see what new upgrades will be provided this year.

Apple appears to have mandated the retail employees to undergo a training course related to iPhone models with eSIM support, as per sources.

So far, the requirement has reportedly been made at Apple Authorised Resellers in the EU including the countries like France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.

This upcoming move by Apple depicts an indication of the iPhone 17 series going SIM-less in more markets.

When it comes to the eSIM, it is generally considered to be a more convenient and secure alternative to a physical SIM card as it comes with instant deactivation.

There are a few downsides as the support for eSIM is still limited to premium devices, and if you are someone who switches between phones quite frequently then this process is not as simple as swapping the physical SIM from one handset to another.

iPhone 17 Launch Date, Pricing & Design

As announced, the iPhone 17 , alongside the rest of the models, is slated to be unveiled on September 9 at 10:30 pm IST.

Its launch is branded as the “Awe Dropping” event which will be hosted at Apple Park in Cupertino, confirmed by CEO Tim Cook.

Coming to the prices, the entry prices of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are projected to rise to approximately $1,049 and $1,249.

Its top most revision is viewed as Apple’s response to mounting tariffs and escalating production expenses and its base iPhone 17 variant will remain at around $799.

The iPhone 17 series is anticipated to have a revamped rear camera module and the brand may abandon the long-standing vertical three-lens arrangement.

It is expected to be replaced by a wide rectangular camera housing stretching across the back, resembling the design language found on Google’s Pixel lineup.
