Tuesday, September 10 is when Apple is planning to introduce the iPhone 16 series.
Industry veteran Mark Gurman has recommended this date, and Tom’s Guide and CNMO News have both endorsed it.
iPhone 16 To Be Launched on September 10?
Pre-orders go live on the unveil day and will probably open on Friday, September 13.
On Friday, September 20, the iPhone 16 series is anticipated to go on sale.
According to rumors, the price of the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max will begin at $1,199, the same as the current iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The September 10 revelation gains credence because the proposed date is consistent across a number of sources.
The same date for the announcement of the iPhone 16 series is also supported by 9to5Mac.
A key component of the upcoming iPhone series, Apple Intelligence “won’t be ready until October.”
Despite Apple Intelligence not being ready, Apple will not postpone the release of the hardware. Gurman states, ““Apple is taking a different tack and won’t hold back the new hardware until the services are ready.”
Apple Intelligence Remains Unfinished
To use Apple Intelligence, users will need to update to iOS 18.1 in October on their brand-new iPhone 16 hardware.
Due to unfinished features, Apple had to postpone the introduction of the iPhone 4S in 2011, but they won’t do the same this year.
As per Gurman, ““The rationale: iCloud and Siri—a pair of new online services—wouldn’t be ready until the fall. Other than those enhancements, the iPhone 4S wouldn’t have a lot of fresh features. So rather than launch the iPhone 4S in June and give people Siri and iCloud via software upgrades a few months later, it decided to hold off and launch everything together at the end of the year.”
According to Mark Gurman, the iPhone 16 will be released at roughly the same time as the previous year.
He says, ““I’m told that the iPhone launch will occur around the same time as last year — a quick look at the calendar makes Sept. 10 a probable date — and users will need to upgrade their new hardware to iOS 18.1 in October to get rolling with Apple Intelligence.”
