With the festivals like Diwali and Chhath Puja, India Railways has launched its longest Vande Bharat Express, which is designed to enhance the nation’s expanding high-speed train network.
Vande Bharat Express: New Patna-Delhi Route Offers Swift Travel for Holidaymakers
This new route connects the capital of Bihar, Patna, with country’s capital, Delhi. This shall be pivotal transport link for holidaymakers.
Making stops at key locations including Arrah, Buxar, DDU, Prayagraj, and Kanpur, Railways has confirmed that the special train shall run on trial basis. Covering an impressive of approximately 994 kilometres, this Vande Bharat Express will offer passengers a swift and luxurious travel experience, completing the journey from New Delhi to Patna in just 11 hours and 35 minutes.
For comparison, the Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express takes 11 hours and 55 minutes, while the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Tejas Rajdhani completes the route in 11 hours and 30 minutes.
It is at a crucial time that the Vande Bharat Express was introduced, coinciding with a significant increase in travellers returning home for Diwali and Chhath Puja.
There is typically a surge in demand for train tickets as well as flight tickets particularly from Delhi, which has a large Bihari population. This new train service aims to play its part in taking some travel pressures off by adding capacity and providing a faster alternative.
Vande Bharat Express Schedule: Delhi-Patna Service with Exclusive Chair Car Seating
It would be on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays that the Vande Bharat Express will run. The return journey from Patna to New Delhi will take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The train departs Delhi at 8:25 AM, reaching Patna by 8:00 PM, and leaves Patna at 7:30 AM, arriving in Delhi at 7:00 PM.
With no sleeper class available, this service shall come with exclusive offer chair car seating. Ticket prices are set at ₹2,575 for an AC chair car and ₹4,655 for an executive chair car.
The operations have been commenced on October 30, with subsequent trips on November 1, 3, and 6. The return service from Patna to Delhi will be available on November 2, 4, and 7.
As far as the running schedule is concerned, then the train departs New Delhi around 8:25 AM, stopping at Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Buxar before reaching Arrah Junction at 7:10 PM and concluding its journey in Patna by 8:00 PM. On its return, it will depart Patna at 7:30 AM, arriving at Arrah Junction at 8:07 AM, and reaching Delhi by 7:00 PM.
