Bhopal, known for its lakes, historic architecture, cultural richness and education as well as research centers is now rewriting history as becoming the nation’s first privately-operated railway station, Rani Kamlapati.

Formerly operated as Habibganj railway station and later renamed to Rani Kamlapati in November 2021, this railway station gives an airport-like experience with amenities like modern waiting lounge, food courts, and shopping outlets.

As per the reports, this railway station with station code RKMP, was renamed in honour of the Gond queen Rani Kamlapati.

This station is reported to feature various facilities that include a hotel, a parking lot, and an air-conditioned lobby. Indian Railways is redefining travel with luxurious trains and upgraded premium services that blend comfort, elegance, and heritage.

Indian Railways are any which called as “lifeline of the Indian economy” because it goes beyond the passenger mobility and freight movement, because it also provides employment and has a significant economic impact. With stations like Rani Kamlapati, Indian Railways are setting new benchmarks in comfort and convenience.

Why Privatize Rani Kamlapati Station?

The privatization of Rani Kamlapati railway station reflects a broader push to modernize India’s railway infrastructure while enhancing passenger experience.
