It is anticipated that Indian companies will raise salaries by an average of 6.2% to 11.3% during the fiscal year 2025–2026.

According to the TeamLease Services – Jobs and Salaries Primer 2025-26 report, pay increases of up to 13.8% are possible for certain roles.

As demand shifts toward roles with technical skills and immediate business impact, the anticipated growth “signals a broader realignment in India’s job and wage landscape,” according to Kartik Narayan, CEO-Staffing at TeamLease Services.

Data from 1,308 businesses in 20 cities and 23 industries served as the basis for the report.

The highest projected salary increases are in:

  • EV & EV Infrastructure: 11.3%
  • Consumer Durables: 10.7%
  • Retail: 10.7%
  • NBFCs: 10.4%

Specific roles expected to receive significant hikes include:

  • Electrical Design Engineer (EV): 12.4%
  • In-Store Demonstrator (Consumer Durables): 12.2%
  • Relationship Executive (NBFC): 11.6%
  • Fashion Assistant (Retail): 11.2%

Blue-Collar Salaries Surge Amid EV Boom, Infrastructure Growth, and Real Estate Recovery

The expansion of infrastructure, the EV boom, and the recovery in the manufacturing and real estate industries are all contributing to a noticeable rise in blue-collar jobs.

Key blue-collar roles with strong salary hikes include:

  • Mechanic: 10.4%
  • Material Handler: 10%
  • Machine Operator: 9.9%
  • Electrician: 9.3%

Even historically stable positions are seeing double-digit increases, Narayan underlined, referring to this as a “critical signal” for employers to match hiring practices with emerging growth areas and for job seekers to upskill.

To remain competitive in luring operational talent, businesses are putting more emphasis on skill certification, retention, and performance-based incentives.

City-specific high-growth roles include:

  • Quality Control Inspector (Pune): 13.8%
  • MIS Executive (Hyderabad): 13.4%
  • Data Engineer (Bengaluru): 12.9%
  • Electrical Design Engineer (Mumbai): 12.6%
  • Sales Executive (Gurgaon): 12.4%

The functional areas that are expected to experience the largest average increase are sales and marketing (9.9%), followed by engineering (9.5%).

Finance, customer service, back office, blue collar, and HR/admin are among the other departments that anticipate modest increases of 8.2% to 8.6%, indicating steady but balanced growth across business domains.
