Just hours after Apple introduced the latest iPhone 16, the Chinese communication technology conglomerate Huawei has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Mate XT Ultimate Design.
Launch Of World’s First Triple Fold Smartphone
Interestingly, the timing of this launch is perfectly aimed at overshadowing Apple, especially in the Chinese market.
It appears that the competition between the two tech giants is fierce in the Chinese market.
As we know that Apple has launched its new iPhone which comes with some upgrades but there was no major change in design language.
While in the case of Huawei, Mate XT is aimed to impress with an all-new form factor.
The Mate XT Ultimate Design sports a unique triple-folding display, which allows the phone to transform from a regular-sized device into a 10.2-inch tablet.
This allows the users to switch between three modes including the folded once, it acts as a 6.4-inch phone.
It turns into a 7.9-inch screen, when it is folded twice and finally, the fully unfolded one provides a 10.2-inch display, which is undeniably a large tablet.
Please note here that the folding mechanism here uses flexible materials further allowing the screen to bend inward and outward.
In order to have this kind of flexibility, they have used a special hinge system which is designed by Huawei to ensure smooth transitions between the different screen modes.
Basically, this phone is designed to offer more versatility for the users who want a compact phone while enjoying a large screen for tasks like multitasking, reading, and gaming.
Camera Setup, Battery & Charging
Besides this foldable design, the Mate XT Ultimate Design also features a quad-camera system.
The device comes with a standout feature with a 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a variable aperture that allows the camera to adjust to different lighting conditions.
This setup makes it easier for users to take high-quality photos in a range of settings, from bright sunlight to low-light environments.
Its camera setup is also graced by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which offers 5.5x optical zoom for capturing distant objects with clarity.
For selfies, it has a front-facing 8 megapixels camera which is neatly placed in a small cutout on the display, making it perfect for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone packs a lot of power under the hood as it comes with 16GB of RAM and offers three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
Mate XT is powered by a 5,600mAh battery, which is claimed to last through a day of heavy use.
The device comes with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
