Just ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced a new financial assistance scheme in a significant move.
Financial Assistance For Students And Graduates
The move is mainly focused at benefiting the students and recent graduates.
This announcement was made on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi Day in Pandharpur.
Reportedly, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced a stipend for students on this occasion.
Under this plan, the 12th-grade pass students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 6,000, diploma students will receive Rs 8,000, and graduates will get Rs 10,000 monthly for six-month internships.
It appears that the implementation of the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Karyaprashikshan Yojana scheme is aimed towards providing skill training and enhancing employability.
Earlier, it was announced during the state budget, among other welfare initiatives and this scheme received Cabinet approval on Monday.
It is expected to benefit around 1 million youths and will cost approximately Rs 10,000 crore as informed in several reports.
How Does It Work?
When it comes to the stipend amount, it will vary based on the beneficiaries’ qualifications, according to an official from the Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Department.
Further, these participants can work in any business or non-profit organization for a semester.
Under this scheme, the graduates are set to benefit the most as they will have a monthly allowance of Rs. 10,000.
This initiative is expected to provide the much-needed financial support to young individuals at various educational stages.
Further, this would help in fostering better employment opportunities and aid in their transition from education to the workforce.
This is a strategic move by the Maharashtra government, which is seen as an effort to address the economic challenges faced by students and graduates.
Besides this, the scheme aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with education and early career development.
This would also help in enabling students to focus more on their studies and professional growth.
Not only that, this initiative is expected to be a key talking point in the political discourse, highlighting the government’s commitment to the educational and economic development of youth in the state as the assembly elections draw nearer.
