Honor Is Coming Back To India With A Massive 200 Mega Pixel Smartphones! Check Expected Launch Date

Past troubles

The smartphone brand, which was a sub-brand of Huawei at the time, ran into trouble in the US when the government restricted Huawei from using Google services.

Reports suggested that Honor would leave the Indian smartphone market as well, but the company denied those claims.

It continued to sell new products in India, although it shifted focus to smartwatches and tablets like the Honor Watch ES and the Honor Pad 5.

Honor 9A was the last smartphone it released in India, a budget-friendly device priced below Rs 10,000.

India return

The company’s India arm will be led by Realme’s former CEO Madhav Sheth.

Although there has been no official confirmation, a trademark named “Honor for Knights” with Sheth’s name mentioned was discovered recently.

He is accompanied by 15 employees along with a few top executives that have already joined HonorTech after leaving Realme.

Expected specs

The model has already been released in China, but it is unclear if the Indian variant will differ from the global model.

The premium smartphone comes with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,200 x 2,664 pixels) curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera

It features a triple camera setup comprising an industry-leading 200MP primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

At the front is a 50MP selfie camera.

Processor, battery

It is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM.

It packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W charging that can be charged using a USB Type-C port.

Price, competition

As per a report by IANS (via Siasat), the Honor 90 will sell at around Rs 45,000.

It was launched in China in three storage variants – 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB – priced at CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 28,705), CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 32,163), and CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 34,447), respectively.

In India, it is expected to compete with the likes of the Google Pixel 7a, Nothing Phone 2, iQoo Neo 7 Pro, and OnePlus 11R.

September arrival

Gaurav Chaudhary, also known as Technical Guruji, said that the Honor 90 will be unveiled in India in September.

It has already been launched in some other countries.
