After the long wait, finally, Honda has unveiled the much-awaited Elevate in India.
Honda Elevate Launch In India
This is the first time that the mid-size SUV has been unveiled globally.
The event held a great significance as Honda Elevate will be the first-ever mid-size SUV from the Japanese automobile giant.
This new launch from Honda will take on cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the likes.
The Japanese car manufacturer will start accepting the bookings for the new Elevate in July and launch will happen sometime during the festive season.
Notably, the new Honda Elevate is based on the same platform as the Honda City.
According to Honda, the brand will bring a battery-powered Elevate in the next three years.
Presently, Honda only sells sedans in the Indian market.
Honda Elevate Specifications And Features
When it comes to this new car, the Elevate looks like a typical Honda product.
It is offered with the signature Honda thick bar grille that extends to become the sleek headlamps.
Similarly, the rear gets sleek tail lamps units as well.
In dimensions, the Elevate is 4.2 meters long, 1.65 meters tall and 1.79 m wide.
The SUV comes with a ground clearance of 220mm, which is quite good for the Indian roads.
For interiors, the new Honda Elevate is offered with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The car has wireless smartphone integration and the HD color TFT for the driver is 7-inch.
The car maker is also offering Honda Sensing ADAS features including autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control and more.
When it comes to safety, the car is loaded with active safety features like Lane Watch, Hill Climb Assist, Lane Keep Assist and others.
Besides this, it will be able to connect to Alexa and will offer connectivity options to Apple Watch and Android Watch.
Elevate Engine Options
At the moment, the new Elevate will officially come with only one engine.
It will have a 1.5-liter petrol engine, delivering 121 PS and 150 Nm of torque.
Presently, the same engine is used in the Honda City mid-size sedan.
Honda is likely to make adjustments to the power characteristics to better suit the SUV’s form factor.
For transmission options, they are likely to be similar to those available in the Honda City.
Thus, offering a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox, depending on the variant.
Apart from this, the car maker may also introduce hybrid variants of the Elevate in future as the company has already confirmed its plans to introduce an all-electric powertrain for the Elevate within the next three years.
