Honda Elevate Unveiling In India
In a recent development, Honda has confirmed the unveiling date of its upcoming mid-size SUV, the Elevate, in India, on 6 June, 2023.
Not only that the offline bookings for the same are already being accepted at multiple Honda dealerships across the country.
The Japanese headquartered firm revealed the name of the SUV at the start of this month.
The test mule of the Elevate SUV was spotted doing rounds on the Indian roads, around the same time.
Honda Elevate Features And Specifications
This latest launch from Honda is expected to get features like a 360-degree camera, a large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a sunroof.
The exterior of Elevate SUV is expected to get LED headlamps and tail lights, LED DRLs, a shark-fin antenna, a rear wiper with a washer, and roof rails.
It seems that the carmaker will reveal more details on the debut date of the Elevate SUV next month.
The latest teaser image of the Honda Elevate SUV gives us a top-down view showing it to be finished in a white color.
Notably, its most significant detail of all is that it won’t be getting a panoramic sunroof but a single-pane unit.
The shared teaser also highlights a brief look at the LED DRLs up front and the LED taillights and the roof rail.
But considering how competitors like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara do offer a panoramic sunroof, the Elevate may be on the back foot without it.
Not to forget that even the upcoming facelifted Kia Seltos will offer a panoramic sunroof.
Besides the sunroof, the Elevate will also likely to offer c
a bigger touchscreen unit than the City’s 8-inch display, ventilated front seats, cruise control, digital driver’s display, and wireless phone charging.
Coming to safety, Honda is expected to equip it with up to six airbags, traction control, a 360-degree camera and electronic stability control (ESC).
In addition to this new launch from Honda will also come with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), likely consisting of lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and forward-collision warning.
Under The Hood Specifications
The Elevate SUV is most likely to borrow the petrol engine from its sedan sibling, the Honda City, under the hood.
Besides this, the hybrid powertrain option and the ADAS suite can also be carried over from the City.
It will be equipped with the City’s 1.5-litre petrol engine (121PS and 145Nm) with 6-speed manual and CVT options.
The carmaker is also expected to offer it with the City Hybrid’s 126PS strong-hybrid powertrain.
It appears that the Elevate too will miss out on a diesel engine altogether, like some newer compact SUVs.
Honda Elevate Pricing and Competition
This new launch from Honda is most likely to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and others in the SUV segment.
It will be competing in a crowded segment that boasts of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross.
Elevate is expected to go on sale by August 2023 at a starting price of Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
