Honda City Hatchback Launched At Rs 13.7 Lakh In This Country: Check USPs, Features & More

Let’s find out all the details about the car!

Interior and Exterior

The improved look of the car can be noticed through a revised bumper, a blacked-out lower apron, a revised front grille, and new 16-inch black wheels.

The interior is similar to that of the sedan, but it has two USB-C charging ports and an inner pocket for smartphones for backseat passengers.

It has the Honda Sensing suite, which includes features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8.0-inch Advanced Touch audio system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and Low-Speed Follow and Lead Car Departure notification, among others.

Price, Variants, and Colors

With starting prices of THB 5,99,000 or Rs 13.7 lakh, the car is available in five variants: Turbo S+, Turbo SV, Turbo RS, e:HEV SV, and e:HEV RS.

Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, Ignite Red Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, Tafetta White, and Platinum White Pearl are among the color options available.

Powertrain and Battery

A 1.0-liter inline-three VTEC Turbo petrol engine and an Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system are the two powertrain options available for the hatchback.

The hybrid system consists of a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine, a 109-bhp electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery pack. The turbocharged gasoline engine produces 122 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque.

An electrical continuously variable transmission is included with the hybrid setup, whereas a CVT unit handles transmission duties for the gasoline variant.

Three driving modes are available with the hybrid system: EV, Hybrid, and Engine.

Honda City Hatchback India Launch

Soon after its launch in Thailand, the hatchback Honda City is expected to go on sale in Malaysia.

However, the car’s launch in India is quite unlikely, given that Indians prefer SUVs to hatchbacks.

Honda’s current lineup in India includes the Elevate SUV, City sedan, City Hybrid eHEV, and Amaze sedan.
