For users experiencing issues with 5G connectivity, Vi has provided three specific recommendations.
Tip 1: 5G connectivity problems may arise if your phone is in power-saving mode.
Tip 2: Put your SIM card in SIM slot 1 instead of SIM slot 2 if you want 5G to work.
Tip 3: 5G may turn off on its own if the phone gets too hot.
Since both use NSA (non-standalone architecture) technology, Vi claims that its 5G should function on any device that supports Airtel’s 5G.
In April 2025, Vi plans to introduce 5G in four new telecom circles: Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, and Karnataka.

Vi To Expand 5G Rollout By Increasing Capital Expenditures
In the upcoming months, Vi intends to expand the rollout of 5G by increasing capital expenditures for both 4G and 5G infrastructure.
In order to make up for recent losses, the telecom company is under pressure to increase the number of its users.
Due to continuous customer losses, Vi’s active subscriber base has now dropped below 180 million.
Vodafone Idea (Vi) officially launched its 5G services in March 2025, starting with the Mumbai circle. Now, the telco is expanding its 5G footprint in April to four more circles: Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, and Punjab, as confirmed on Vi’s official website. This brings the total number of circles where Vi offers 5G services to five.
While it remains unclear if more circles will be added this month, Vi has already met the Minimum Rollout Obligations (MRO) required by the government. With this milestone, the company is now focusing on ramping up deployment of 5G radios and sites to compete with industry giants Airtel and Jio.
