Haryana has achieved a major milestone in agricultural digitisation by completing the geo-referencing of 1.75 crore agricultural plots and covering nearly 96 percent of villages under the AgriStack programme. The initiative is expected to transform how farmers access government services while improving the efficiency and transparency of agricultural administration across the state.
The progress was reviewed during a steering committee meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who described AgriStack as a key step towards building a data-driven agricultural ecosystem.
Haryana Nears Complete Digital Mapping
According to official data, 6,808 out of Haryana’s 7,100 villages have already been geo-referenced, representing 95.89 percent coverage. Authorities expect the remaining villages to be mapped within the next two months, bringing the entire state under the digital agriculture framework.
The mapping exercise creates a digital record of agricultural land parcels, making it easier to track land ownership, crop cultivation patterns, and farmer information through a unified platform.
Over 11.5 Lakh Farmers Enrolled
The state has enrolled more than 11.58 lakh farmers under the programme, while 8.32 lakh Farmer IDs have already been generated. These digital identities will serve as a gateway for farmers to access various government schemes and benefits more efficiently.
Officials said enrolment is being accelerated through Common Service Centres across Haryana, with the pace expected to increase significantly in the coming months.
What Is AgriStack?
AgriStack is part of India’s broader Digital Agriculture Mission aimed at creating a digital public infrastructure for agriculture. The platform integrates farmer records, land ownership details, geo-referenced maps, and crop information into a single system.
The initiative is designed to reduce duplication, improve policy implementation, and enable faster delivery of government benefits such as PM-KISAN payments, crop insurance, agricultural credit, disaster relief, and MSP procurement support.
Digital Crop Survey Planned For Kharif Season
The Haryana government is now preparing for the Kharif 2026 Digital Crop Survey, which will cover all geo-referenced agricultural plots across 23 districts. Around 6,500 surveyors are expected to participate in the exercise beginning in August.
The survey will provide plot-level visibility into crop cultivation patterns, helping policymakers make better decisions regarding procurement, input distribution, irrigation planning, and agricultural support programmes.
