Google has announced the expansion of its AI Overviews feature to six new countries, including India. Initially launched in the United States earlier this year, AI Overviews are designed to streamline the search process by providing users with AI-generated snapshots that highlight key information and relevant links. Available in English and Hindi
One of the most significant aspects of this expansion is that AI Overviews will be available in both English and Hindi in India. Google is also introducing popular India-first features that were tested during the Search Labs experiment. These include an easy language toggle button that allows users to switch between English and Hindi results effortlessly and a Text-To-Speech feature that lets users listen to AI-generated responses by simply tapping the ‘Listen’ button.
Enhanced User Experience with AI Overviews
AI Overviews are not just about making search faster; they also make it more user-friendly. The feature takes the work out of searching by providing a concise AI-generated summary of search results, complete with links to dive deeper into topics of interest. This is particularly useful for users who want quick answers without wading through multiple web pages.
In addition to these features, Google is rolling out a new right-hand link display for AI Overviews on desktop, which will also be accessible on mobile devices by tapping the site icons on the upper right. This update is designed to make it easier for users to explore relevant websites directly from the search results.

The global rollout of these updates is already in progress, reaching AI Overviews users in all launched countries and Search Labs users across more than 120 countries and territories. Google is also testing the integration of links to relevant web pages directly within the text of AI Overviews, further enhancing the ease of accessing information.
