As the vibrant festival of Holi approaches, Indian Railways unveils plans to operate 15 special trains, connecting various cities across the country. These additional services aim to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the festive season, providing convenient travel options for commuters.
List of Holi Special Trains:
- New Delhi – Udhampur Special (Train No. 04033/04034): Departing from New Delhi on March 22 and 29, this train will run to Udhampur and back on March 23 and 30, respectively. It will stop at key stations including Sonipat, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Ludhiana Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Ambala Cantt, and Jammu Tawi.
- New Delhi – Vaishno Devi Special (Train No. 04053/04054): Operating twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, this train will depart from New Delhi to Vaishno Devi from March 24 to 31. On its return journey, it will run from March 25 to April 1, also twice a week on Thursdays and Mondays.
- Delhi – Varanasi Special (Train No. 04061/04062): Running between March 21 and 30, this train will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from New Delhi to Varanasi. The return journey from Varanasi to Delhi will be available on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
- Katra – Varanasi Special: Scheduled to run on Sundays from Katra to Varanasi and returning on Tuesdays, this weekly service aims to facilitate travel between the two destinations during the festive period.
- Howrah – Varanasi Special: Departing from Howrah on March 23, this train will make stops at Patna, Arrah, Buxar, Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Durgapur, Asansol, Bakhtiyarpur, and Varanasi.
- Delhi – Tundla – Agra Special: Operating daily from March 21 to 24, this train will provide convenient travel options between Delhi, Tundla, Panipat, and Agra.
Additional trains include LTT Mumbai-Prayagraj Weekly Superfast AC Specials, LTT Mumbai-Banaras Weekly Specials, LTT Mumbai-Thivim Weekly AC Specials, LTT Mumbai-Danapur Bi-Weekly Superfast Specials, and LTT Mumbai-Samastipur Weekly Superfast Specials.
