Free Trains Announced Between Mumbai & Konkan For Ganesh Chaturthi

In a heartwarming gesture ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, Maharashtra BJP Minister Nitish Rane has announced the launch of two special Ganpati Modi Express trains from Mumbai to the Konkan region. This marks the 13th consecutive year of the initiative, aimed at ensuring devotees can comfortably travel to their hometowns and celebrate the festival with their families.

Train Schedule and Routes

The special trains will depart from Dadar Railway Station at 11:00 AM on August 23 and 24.

  • August 23: Stops at Ratnagiri and Kudal, terminating at Sawantwadi.
  • August 24: Stops at Vaibhavwadi and Kankavali, also terminating at Sawantwadi.

Passengers are advised to register their names with their respective mandal presidents to secure tickets in advance.

A Token of Gratitude

Minister Rane described the trains as a gift to the people of Konkan, particularly from Kankavali, Devgad, and Vaibhavwadi, for their continued support to the BJP in recent elections.
“This year, we are doubling the joy with two special trains to ensure more devotees can celebrate Ganeshotsav in their hometowns. We are committed to making this journey seamless and memorable,” Rane stated.

The announcement has been warmly received by hometown goers, many of whom see it as a chance to take part in the festivities without the burden of travel expenses. Over the years, the Ganpati Modi Express has become a cherished tradition, reuniting families and reinforcing cultural bonds.
