After this time, you will need a Resident Return (RRV) visa (subclass 155 or 157) to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident
In order to have this visa, an individual must be invited so that they can apply for this visa and lodge their visa application within 60 days of invitation.
If anyone is looking to apply for an Expression of Interest, they need to be either in or outside Australia but not in immigration clearance.
To have this visa granted, an individual needs to have an internationally recognized record of exceptional achievement in one of the following areas.
- A profession
- A sport
- The arts
- Academia and research.
The individual will also need to have a nominator with a national reputation in their area of talent which could be one of the following.
- An Australian citizen
- An Australian permanent resident
- An eligible New Zealand citizen
- An Australian organization.

They need to complete a Form 1000 and the Nomination for National Innovation visa needs to be attached with the visa application at the time of applying.
