A memory function that enables the AI tool to retain information from user chats is one of the new Meta AI features that Meta is testing on WhatsApp.

Facebook's AI Platform Will Soon Remember Your Whatsapp Chats

The WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.22.9 has this functionality, which attempts to deliver a customized experience by remembering previous interactions, according to a report from WABetaInfo.

Meta AI To Retain Information from User Chats

The memory function builds upon Meta AI’s voice chat capabilities, which were first made available in beta version 2.24.18.18.

This function allows Meta AI to recall a variety of user-provided information, including birthdays, favorite actors, music, and cuisine preferences.

The goal of Meta AI’s capacity to retain personal information is to improve the precision and pertinence of its responses during interactions.

Although the functionality might enhance user experience by offering more personalized responses, it raises questions regarding Meta’s expanded data collecting.

In addition to choices to update or remove the stored data, users will have control over what Meta AI recalls.

Although some users would prefer it, there isn’t a way to fully eliminate the memory feature at the moment.

Future iterations of the app are anticipated to incorporate the feature, which is currently in development.

WhatsApp Users Can Now Speak & Edit Images, Get Insights & More Via Meta AI

Mark Zuckerberg said at Meta Connect 2024 that WhatsApp users can now have real-time chats with the Meta AI chatbot.

In addition to answering queries and providing contextual answers, Meta AI can also improve and analyze shared images.

Users may use their voice to communicate with Meta AI via DM on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

As per Meta, “With these updates, you’ll be able to talk to Meta AI in real-time using your own voice and send photos and have it edit them. These updates will make it even easier for people to explore their ideas, chat better, and try new things.”

With speech options that include famous voices like Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key, and Kristen Bell, the AI will provide unique experiences.

Users can ask questions and get immediate responses by tapping the waveform button on WhatsApp to interact with Meta AI.
