[Exclusive Interview] This SaaS-Based PropTech Startup Offers Unprecedented Workplace Flexibility To Employers & Employees

Here are the interview highlights:

1. Please give us a brief about Easydesq and its journey since inception.

Incepted in the year 2020, Easydesq is a SaaS-based PropTech firm that provides an option to employers offering to step out and work at a facility near their homes to overcome power and network issues. The brand is on a mission to make a hybrid workplace a reality for small, medium, and large businesses. The company works on a SaaS-based model and provides an option to employers offering to step out and work at a facility near their homes to overcome power and network issues. The company is aggressively working to reduce permanent office rentals, by making distributed work simple, seamless, and sustainable.

We work on a bespoke on-demand solution- a mix of monthly/ yearly memberships and employee pools, split regionally. Easydesq’s consolidated reporting and billing aspects have been the biggest selling points for their clients. Before Easydesq entered the market, it was challenging to locate and reserve meeting rooms or private venues for impromptu gatherings. However, users can now book whatever they want, whenever they want, with the aid of Easydesq, as long as it falls within the parameters of previously established contracts.

2. Share a brief on the Co-Founders.

I along with Mr. Gulati founded Easydesq in October 2022. It is a SaaS-based platform providing an option for employers offering to step out and work at a facility near their homes to overcome power and network issues.

I hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Delhi, and an MBA from the FORE School of Management. Prior to starting Easydesq, I co-founded Doctor Insta, a Telemedicine application, and has worked in key roles at CoWrks. At CoWorks, I and Arjun contributed towards the region’s growth ensuring healthy occupancy rates of 90%+ at a portfolio level. At Easydesq, I am responsible for striking client relationships, managing the corporate sales team, and investor relations among others.

Arjun Gulati has a passion for Flex office space and always finds ways to help people succeed in real estate affairs through his befitting solutions. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration from the Management Development Institute of Singapore. During his previous stints, he has also been a part of the founding team at CoWrks, a co-working space. He played a key role in CoWrks’ expansion and was responsible for growing its footprints in the Delhi-NCR region. At Easydesq, he is responsible for striking landlord relationships, structuring managed office space transactions, and product development.

3. Let us know about your accomplishments & recent partnerships.

Since the inception of Easydesq, we have successfully facilitated more than 3,000 desks till now. In recent months, we have also closed deals with some big players like Skoda India, Boult Audio, and MyGlamm, who were previously relying on conventional offices.

4. What are your upcoming expansion plans?

Currently, the brand is working as a flex space aggregator, helping clients understand the breadth & depth of various micro-markets in the country for their office space-related needs. By facilitating easy, smooth, and sustainable distributed work, we are always trying to lower permanent office rentals. Furtherly, to ensure a speedy interaction with the client, we as a tech-first organisation attempt to increase our efficiency by sharing digital proposals with clients according to their requirements in less than 30 minutes. We have also successfully closed deals with some big industry players like Skoda India, Boult Audio, MyGlamm, who were previously relying on conventional offices. Looking at our growth and success we are also planning to expand our business to cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, in the near future.

5. What are your thoughts on the changing workplace segment in India and what does it look like in the coming years?

Coworking spaces are growing in popularity as a viable solution for companies of all sizes since they provide a flexible and affordable alternative to traditional office facilities. This industry has been here around for about 17 years, but it’s still relatively new. The recent boom in popularity is due to the broadening acceptance of remote working, a phenomenon that is only growing with the rise of technology. We see a massive opportunity in the shared workplace for corporate users who have to decide with only limited supply options. The market of flexible workplaces has expanded significantly in recent years, offering businesses a variety of solutions to match their unique needs and requirements. These possibilities encompass everything from coworking spaces to serviced offices. The adaptability and flexibility of workers’ work practices and workplace layouts will continue to be enhanced by these technologies.

In the recent report by Maximize Market Research, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.9% throughout the forecast period, the global market for flexible workspace is anticipated to reach a value of USD 82.71 billion by 2027. Due to the growing number of startups and SMEs, that only need a small staff to operate, small and medium-sized businesses will continue to dominate the market during the forecast period.

6. Who are your competitors and how do you differentiate yourselves?

Every industry has multiple players, including ours. However, what differentiates us is our supply range in multiple cities, allowing our clients to look at various options from the bouquet of curated workspaces that Easydesq offers. Qdesq and MyHq can be called our competitors.

7. Please let us know your revenue figures and how have you achieved them.

Easydesq did $125k+ revenue last financial year and is well on track to achieve $250k+ revenue this FY. The company is growing 180-200 % this financial year with aggressive plans to increase the team size and grow to achieve at least an ARR of $1mn in FY23-24.
