Recently, we interacted with Mr. Kushagra Awasthi, Founder and Chief Mentor, The Concept Labs – India First and only Masterclass and Mentor programme for DESIGNPRENEURS (Design Entrepreneurs).

1.What is The Concept Labs ?
The Concept Labs is a mentorship program and community that empowers designpreneurs to build successful businesses in India. It provides guidance, support, and resources in various aspects of design and entrepreneurship, helping aspiring designpreneurs to overcome challenges, develop their skills, and create a strong foundation for their business. The program offers mentorship from industry experts, access to funding and investment opportunities, networking events, workshops, and a supportive community of like-minded individuals.
2.How did you come up with the idea? What have been the key achievements so far?
The idea for The Concept Labs originated from a combination of my personal experiences as an entrepreneur and my passion for supporting and empowering aspiring designpreneurs. I recognized the need for a comprehensive mentorship program and community that could provide guidance, resources, and networking opportunities specifically tailored to the unique challenges faced by designpreneurs in India.
The Key achievements so far includes- university collaborations, ambassador appointments, practical knowledge impartation, community building, live project opportunities, and fostering an entrepreneurial culture.
3.How many working professionals have joined the program so far?
We are planning to go live by 1st of July.
4.What goals are you trying to achieve by 2025?
By 2025, our primary goal at The Concept Labs is to have at least 600+ startups with a balance sheet of more than 5 Crores, generating direct employment for around 25,000 people and indirect employment for over 1 lakh citizens of the country. We aim to empower designpreneurs with practical knowledge and skills in various aspects of design and entrepreneurship, enabling them to build successful businesses and contribute to the growth of the design industry in India.
5.What is the future roadmap for you as a mentor?
As a mentor, my vision is to continue supporting and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs on their journey by providing guidance, mentorship, and resources. My future roadmap includes expanding the reach of The Concept Labs mentorship program to a larger audience of individuals who are passionate about design, and building a strong community of Designpreneurs across India. I aim to enhance the program by bringing in more experienced mentors, industry experts, and professionals to provide valuable insights and support to the mentees. Additionally, I plan to foster collaborations and partnerships with universities, organizations, and industry leaders to create a thriving ecosystem for designpreneurs. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the growth and success of designpreneurs in India and inspire a new generation of entrepreneurial leaders in the design industry.

9. Can you tell us about your background.
After spending the best days at Indian Army Training at OTA Kushagra served in a number of corporate companies in entry-level and mid-management roles. In 2012, he decided to become an entrepreneur, and life has never been the same since.
Kushagra started “furnish your dream” Interior Design & Build Company with an emphasis on the interior fit-out of Hotels, Offices, Data Centers, and other buildings with one of India’s most advanced and process-controlled furniture factories with automated machinery and software-oriented production. In addition to this he founded “Lets Work” In order to build India’s most dynamic and lively co-working facility. He is also a Venture Partner with Venture Catalysts India which is Country’s no 1 VC firm for startup funding and Investment.
In 2022 Kushagra started Nirvaah Foundation (Non Profit NGO) which primarily focuses on 3 Objectives. 1). River Rejuvenation. 2). Free food via Decentralised Community Kitchen. 3). Promotion of Entrepreneurship for better India.
10. What is your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?
The key driving force for me to become an entrepreneur is the desire for independence, creativity, and the opportunity to make a positive impact. I am motivated by the freedom to pursue my own vision, create something meaningful, and have control over my own destiny. Entrepreneurship allows me to channel my passion and drive into building something of value, while also making a difference in the lives of others and contributing to the growth of the economy. The ability to innovate, take risks, and constantly learn and grow is what drives me as an entrepreneur.
