Nation’s capital Delhi has seen a drastic increase in the per capita income from 2014’s ₹2.47 lakh to ₹4.62 lakh in 2024. The data was presented by the Finance minister of Delhi, Atishi, in the 10th annual budget of ₹76,000 crores in Delhi assembly.
10th Annual Budget Session: Capital’s Economic Strength
Delhi finance minister also pointed out that the capital’s per capita income is 2.5 times higher than the national average.
The Budget Session for the financial year 2024-2025 for the Delhi Assembly began on February 15 and have been extended to the first week of March. The same marked as 10th annual budget presented by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi.
Economic Growth and Education Prioritization
Atishi also said that the capital’s gross state domestic product increased to 11.08 lakh crore in 2024 as compared to 4.95 lakh crore in 2014.
Out of total budget of ₹76,000 crores, Delhi FM announced the allocation of ₹16,396 cr for education and also said that the education has been the priority of the AAP government.
Earlier, we had reported that every girl aged 18 years and above will receive Rs 1000/month, for empowerment and self-dependence. Exceptions include taxpayers and Govt employees, who are women.
