Bharatiya Janata Party has won 48 of the 70 seats and swept away the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party.

Mahila Samriddhi Yojna For Delhi Women – A 2500 Rupees Scheme
After this remarkable win, the people of Delhi – especially women – started talking about the poll promises soon after coming to power.
This was among the key promises made by the party as they promised a financial assistance scheme of Mahila Samriddhi Yojna.
Under this scheme, the eligible women of the national capital will get Rs 2,500 per month.
The Mahila Samriddhi Yojna scheme is already in place and the first instalment under this scheme will be released on March 8, said Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Further added, “Ensuring financial stability for women is crucial. We will transfer funds directly to beneficiaries’ accounts by March 8,” after being elected as the BJP legislature party leader.
This is not the first scheme as the other BJP-ruled states also have this scheme under its rule.
For instance, in Madhya Pradesh, the government has the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’.
Similarly Maharashtra has a scheme named ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’. Interestingly, both of these schemes deposit cash directly into women’s accounts.
What Is The Eligibility For Delhi Women 2500 Rupees Scheme?
When it comes to the eligibility criteria for this scheme, it could be applicable for anyone having an income below Rs 2.5 lakh, as per the report.
Moving ahead, they should not own a four-wheeler and must be a resident of Delhi for at least 10 years.
So far, not having a government job is under discussion.
Although, no final decision has been taken in this regard.
How Is This Different From The Earlier Delhi Women Scheme Rs 1,000?
The earlier Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government launched the Mahila Samman Yojana which used to offer Rs 1,000 per month to eligible women above 18.
It appears that the AAP government had kept Rs 2,000 crore for their scheme during the budget announcement in 2024-25.
Now, they are planning to increase the amount to Rs 2,100 reportedly.
