A redditor named @Techical-Relation-9 posted on the r/India subreddit, claiming that random Swiggy Instamart users received free cash between ₹4,000 and ₹5 lakh. In the post titled “Someone is definitely losing their job at Swiggy,” the user detailed how many users unexpectedly received substantial amounts of money through the app. Some used this money to place orders, which were successfully delivered, but later received calls from Swiggy stating there was a glitch and asking them to return the items.

Reddit Reacts to Swiggy Instamart Glitch: Users Receive Unexpected Cash Deposits

The post, featuring screenshots of successful orders, quickly garnered attention on Reddit. Many users were intrigued by the randomness of the cash deposits. One commenter asked if the money was “randomly” received, to which the original poster confirmed it was. Some users speculated that Swiggy had meant to offer a smaller discount but had made an error in the probability settings, leading to large sums being given to certain users. Meanwhile, others expressed frustration at missing out on the cash, with one user lamenting, “Am I the only unlucky one?”

Some Redditors were skeptical, suggesting the incident might be a marketing stunt, while others defended the legitimacy of the claims. One user shared that their friend received ₹4,000 and had their product delivered successfully, while they only got a smaller discount. In response, the original poster affirmed that the screenshots were from real users.
