In the fiscal year 2022-23, N Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of the Tata group, received a total remuneration of Rs 113 crore, which included a commission of Rs 100 crore based on the company’s profit, as reported in the company’s annual report. In the previous fiscal year of 2021-22, Chandrasekaran’s total remuneration was Rs 109 crore. The annual report from Tata Sons also reveals that Sourabh Agrawal, the Executive Director of Tata Sons, received a total remuneration of Rs 27.82 crore, including a commission of Rs 22 crore. Chandrasekaran’s basic salary for 2022-23 was Rs 5.56 crore per year, in addition to other benefits.

TCS compensates its top executives through a combination of salary, benefits, perquisites, and allowances (fixed component), along with commission (variable component), which is often tied to the company’s performance. Several directors at Tata Sons, including Harish Manwani, Vijay Singh, Bhaskar Bhat, Leo Puri, and Ralf Speth, received a commission of Rs 2.8 crore each for FY23. Additionally, Anita George, an independent director appointed in July 2022, received a remuneration of Rs 2.1 crore.
