This Tuesday, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah unveiled the “CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal,”.
Launch Of CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal
CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal aims to repay the deposits of thousands of people in four cooperative societies owned by the Sahara Group.
With this move, Shah assured the depositors that no one can stop their money now.
Further adding that the depositors will get the refund in 45 days after registering on the portal.
In an order dated March 29, 2023, the Supreme Court directed that Rs. 5000 Crores be transferred from the “Sahara-SEBI Refund Account” to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) for disbursement against the legitimate dues of genuine depositors of the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies.
Who Is Eligible For This Refund?
To simplify this process, the Ministry of Cooperation on the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal has defined genuine and legitimate Depositors of following four Sahara Societies who are eligible for refund through the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal.
1. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
2. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
3. Saharayn Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.
4. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.
Eligibility Criteria For Filing A Claim
For filing a claim on CRCS Sahara Refund Portal, the Depositors must have made deposits & have outstanding dues receivable before the following dates, for filing a claim request.
For 22nd March 2022
1. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
2. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
3. Saharayn Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.
For 29th March 2023
1. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad
How To Get A Refund?
If you are planning to register in this portal then you will need an Aadhaar linked mobile number and Aadhaar linked bank account.
Apart from this, you will need your deposit number and details of your investment.
In case your claim deposit is above Rs 50,000 then you will have to submit a PAN.
The website claims that with the help of the refund website you can log in on this web portal and submit all your claims simultaneously and upload the relevant documents to support your claim and share proof of invested amount.
