The OnePlus Fold will be unveiled in August in New York according to CEO Pete Lau himself.
Global rollout
The unveiling which will take place in the first half of August will happen only a week or two after Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5.
This is based on rumors that Samsung’s Unpacked event is scheduled for July 26.
The foldable smartphone will undergo a global rollout meaning that it will become available in the US, India, and all other countries where OnePlus currently sells its products.
Based on Oppo product?
Rumors say that the OnePlus Fold might act as the international version of Oppo’s Find N3 which is rumored to debut in China in August too.
Screen
Going by such speculation the OnePlus Fold can be expected to sport an 8-inch inner foldable screen with QHD+ resolution, and a 6.5-inch outer FHD+ screen, both with 120 Hz refresh rate.
Processor
The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
OS
The OnePlus Fold is expected to run Android 13 with OxygenOS 13.1
This is a bit of a let down considering the fact that its launch will take pace around the time Google will release Android 14.
Other specs
Rounding up the specs are a 4,800 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging, a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 48 MP ultrawide, a 32 MP periscope telephoto camera, and a pair of 32 MP selfie shooters, one for each screen.
