Wait is over as OnePlus has confirmed that it will be launching its first smartphone in the second half of this year.

Confirmed! OnePlus All Set To Unleash Foldable Smartphones By 2023-End

First Foldable Smartphone From OnePlus

On 28 February, OnePlus officially confirmed that it will be launching its first flagship foldable smartphone. The phone will be released in the second half of 2023.

The smartphone will offer the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience, said Kinder Liu, president and COO of OnePlus.

Interestingly, the announcement comes just a few days after its sister company Oppo launched its foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

While talking at the “From Fast & Smooth to Beyond” panel discussion at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2023), Liu said that OnePlus’ foldable smartphone will bring the fastest phone experience in today’s foldable market.

“It must be a flagship phone that doesn’t settle because of its folding form, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other aspects,” he added.

“We want to launch a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market,” Liu said.

Further  Liu noted that the foldable will have the form-factor of a book, meaning more along the lines of the Galaxy Z Fold rather than the Galaxy Z Flip.

So far, it is uncertain whether this will be a brand new device or perhaps a modified and rebranded version of the Oppo Find N2.

It seems that the company had nothing more to say at the moment nor did it have any images to share.

Basically, the best look at this device is potentially the teaser image above from the OnePlus 11 global launch and narrows down the launch window to Q3 2023.
