The date for Apple Inc.’s biggest product-upgrade event of the year is slated on 12 September where the iPhone maker is all set to unveil its iPhone 15 line and next-generation smartwatches.
Latest iPhone 15 Launch
As we already know, the Cupertino headquartered technology company typically makes new iPhones available for preorder on the Friday after their unveiling and begins delivering them to customers and stores one week later.
These plans and schedules are already announced by the company on its website and via email under the tagline “Wonderlust.”
According to this, the launch events presentation will be streamed online at 10 a.m. Pacific, with an accompanying event at Apple’s Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.
Previously the media reported that Apple was planning to introduce the new products on that day.
Not only that, the technology maker is under more pressure than usual with this iPhone launch.
As you can guess that it is affected by many factors and one of them is its sales that has slid for three straight quarters as the company contends with shaky demand for smartphones and other devices.
This upcoming launch of the new products also brings the hope to help in restoring the growth this holiday season, which is also Apple’s biggest sales period of the year.
It is noteworthy here that the iPhone and Apple Watch bring in the majority of the tech giant’s revenue.
Apple Inc.’s Biggest Product-upgrade Event Highlights
This event’s highlight consists of the iPhone 15 lineup, which will include two entry-level models and two high-end models.
As already speculated that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will get some capabilities of last year’s Pro models — the A16 chip, Dynamic Island interface and a 48-megapixel rear camera — but retain the current design.
This implies that more significant changes are coming to the higher-end models, including a redesigned frame that uses titanium instead of stainless steel, far thinner borders around the screen and an A17 processor that uses the more advanced 3-nanometer production method.
Besides this the introduction of titanium also will make the phones a bit lighter.
The talks of a new customizable button that will replace the longstanding mute switch — a feature that’s been on the iPhone since the product first debuted in 2007, is also circling around.
In another update, the technology giant is also planning to increase pricing on some of its higher-end models this year, as per the media report.
Apple is planning to introduce updated AirPods at the event that include a USB-C charging port in order to match the new iPhones.
During this event, Apple will unveil the Series 9 lineup for its watches along with a second-generation version of the high-end Ultra, which debuted for the first time last year.
These new models will be supported by faster chips, also marking the first performance boost for Apple’s smartwatch in three years with other minor changes.
In addition to this, the new case colors are expected to be one of the company’s selling points as the company has already tested a version of the Ultra in black.
