The iPhone 15 series is making its way to India, however the iPhone 16 pro may be a better bang for the buck.
It is not slated to launch till next fall.
Let’s take a look at the leaks and rumors about the upcoming 15 series.
16 Pro better bang for the buck?
While the Pro models could get major upgrades, the standard variants will get only incremental upgrades,
Recent leaks suggest that skipping out on the 15 series and waiting patiently for the 16 Pro might make better sense financially.
The 15 Pro models will debut features like A17 Bionic SoC and thin bezels.
However Apple analyst Ming Chi-kuo predicts that 17 Pro could not only offer all these upgrades but also additional features.
Periscope camera
Kuo says that next year’s Pro could get a new periscope camera along with a larger display.
Earlier reports claimed that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max could get the periscope camera.
If Kuo’s claims turn out to be true then this feature could debut not only on the 16 Pro Max but the 16 Pro too.
Display upgrade
Mac Rumors reports from Apple analyst Ross Young claims that Apple will debut bigger iPhones next year.
Apple has been slowly making its iPhone bigger and bigger.
Its 2011 flagship the iPhone 4S HD was a mere 3.5 in display.
On the other hand today’s iPhone 14 Pro Max is a giant 6.7 in.
But Young claims that Apple could go even bigger next year with a 6.3 iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 in iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Meanwhile the standard models are expected to retain their current size.
The specific measurements could be revealed at the Display Week conference held in LA on May 23.
Do note that these claims are based on unconfirmed reports and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Official details will come out when Apple announces them, likely in the fall of 2024.
iPhone 15 and 15 Plus Camera Details Leaked
Analyst Jeff Pu (via MacRumors) has talked about the possibility of a 48MP main camera for even the iPhone 15 and the 15 Plus.
This is currently a Pro thing and was first introduced with last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models.
The 48MP snapper will use a three-stack sensor, allowing more light for better shots.
Production delay?
However, there could be some problem with the sensor’s production as a result of which there could be a delay in the production of the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus.
That said, the iPhone 15 is still expected to launch alongside the iPhone 15 Pro models in September.
Again, nothing is concrete as of now, so, it’s best to take these details with a grain of salt.
Aside from the 48MP camera past rumors suggest that all iPhone 15 models will come with Dynamic Island, which is another Pro-exclusive feature.
We can expect some improvements for the same.
USB-C for the first time
Another feature that will be common across the four iPhone 15 models would be a USB-Type C port, bidding goodbye to the Lightning port and adopting USB-C for the first time on an iPhone.
Expect some design changes, a much premium Titanium chassis, a new mute button, a periscope lens (for the iPhone 15 Pro Max), and much more.
Proper details will be out in September but until then, the rumors and leaks should suffice.
