At a time when IT hiring is seeing headwinds, Capgemini India is bucking the trend. The company plans to hire 40,000–45,000 employees in 2025, with 35–40% of those being lateral hires. CEO Ashwin Yardi said the company is seeing a sharp uptick in client demand for cost-effective services, leading to increased project inflows to India.

Capgemini To Hire 45,000 Indians In 2025; To Create AI-Ready Workforce

Capgemini currently employs 1.75 lakh people in India. To support its hiring targets, it has tied up with over 50 educational institutions across the country. Recruitment has already begun, with a strong focus on AI-readiness training for fresh hires.

WNS Acquisition: Capgemini’s Largest by Headcount

Capgemini’s $3.3 billion acquisition of WNS marks its largest acquisition in terms of employee numbers. While still awaiting final regulatory approvals—expected within six months—the company is confident about integration, citing a strong track record from past deals like iGate.

The WNS acquisition aims to supercharge Capgemini’s Business Process Services (BPS) and agentic-AI capabilities, blending WNS’s operational strength with Capgemini’s analytics and consulting framework.

AI and Efficiency at the Core of Future Operations

The primary goal of the acquisition is to improve intelligent operations for clients, powered by agentic AI. Capgemini expects to realize revenue synergies of $100M–$140M by 2027. Additionally, the deal is forecast to be EPS-accretive by 4% pre-synergy and 7% post-synergy by 2026.

Structured Integration, Minimal Job Overlap

To ensure a smooth transition, Capgemini has formed a dedicated integration team involving both global and local members. The company uses proven integration protocols tailored for acquisitions of various sizes and complexities. Importantly, limited or no job redundancies are expected, reinforcing Capgemini’s employee-first approach.

As India continues to gain global relevance in tech operations, Capgemini’s strategic hiring and AI-led transformation may well serve as a blueprint for the IT industry’s future.
