Recently, Nothing has confirmed that they are working on a new handset, the Phone 2a and it is anticipated to be launched soon.
Nothing Phone 2a Launch
Although the Nothing phone maker has not yet shared the exact release date.
But, speculations around the Phone 2a reveals that it will have some of the same features as the previous Nothing Phone 2.
This simply indicates that the upcoming Phone 2a will be a more affordable and less powerful variant of the Phone 2.
According to Nothing, “Phone (2a) has been engineered with a focus on providing the optimal daily smartphone experience, doubling down on core user needs, with all of Nothing’s expertise and craftsmanship. Phone (2a), codenamed Aerodactyl, leverages some of the most loved Phone 2 features, while ensuring a clear upgrade compared to Phone 1 on every front.”
Besides this, Nothing has also given confirmation regarding the two new products that they plan to introduce in the India market including the CMF Buds and the CMF Neckband Pro.
Although the company has not revealed any details regarding them.
No worries there as some of the leaks have given us a glimpse of what to expect from them.
Nothing Phone 2a Expected Specifications
The Nothing Phone 2a is anticipated to be priced lower than the premium variant considering its placement as a more affordable model.
So far, the Phone 2 has been on the market for almost a year and is already selling for Rs 36,999.
That is why, the Phone 2a could be priced under Rs 35,000,as per the leaks.
It could be offered in two color options including black and white.
The Phone 2a is anticipated to be revealed at the MWC 2024 event in a few weeks and could be considered as a possible launch date.
When it comes to this new launch, the company is expected to retain the same design language, but with fewer LED lights and a different camera layout.
The leaked Phone 2a images shows a dual camera system featuring a 50-megapixel rear camera vertically aligned in the center, instead of horizontally on the left.
It will also be sporting a 32- megapixel selfie camera along with Glyph controls, albeit with fewer customisation options.
The Phone 2a is anticipated to have a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen from Visionix and BOE.
The phone is offered with MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, which has 2x Cortex-A715 and 6x Cortex-A510 cores, having an Arm Mali-G610 MC4 GPU.
Coming to storage, it will be provided with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
This phone will be powered by a battery capacity between 4,500mAh and 4,800mAh.
When it comes to OS, the Phone 2a is speculated to run on Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14.
As we know that Nothing OS is a clean and smooth skin, it has gone through a lot of improvements since its first version.
Except for some Glyph-related features, Phone 2a is expected to offer a similar software experience as the Phone 2.
Additionally, it will also benefit from the same software support as the Phone 2, including three years of OS updates and bi-monthly security patches.
