Hyundai has started to hype up the upcoming facelifted i20 arriving soon in India.
Launch is expected to take place in the coming weeks and in typical fashion, Hyundai will open bookings beforehand.
What’s new?
The carmaker has released a teaser image which showcases some new design elements.
The 2024 edition of the i20 gets new LED headlamps, new grille, a 3D Hyundai logo, and a contrast-coloured front splitter.
It’s also going to get new dual-tone wheels, new rear diffuser, and a tweaked rear bumper as has been seen on the road on a test drive.
Interior
The model gets some updates on the inside as well, an ADAS suite and an all-black interior theme to be precise.
Do remember, the current iteration already has the following features decorating the inside:
- Electric sunroof
- Automatic climate control
- Cruise control
- Fully digital instrument console
- 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- 360-degree camera
- Front parking sensors
- Wireless charger
Hyundai might also introduce something special :a dashcam, a first-in-segment addition for the i20 facelift.
Engine
The updated model is expected to remain unchanged when it comes to the engine- a 1.2-litre, NA petrol motor and 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol unit.
The 1.2-litre engine delivers 82 bhp of maximum power and 114.7 Nm of peak torque, while the turbocharged unit is capable of producing 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of peak torque.
Transmission
Options include five-speed manual, an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission), or a seven-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission).
Pricing
Cost of the facelifted edition hasn’t been revealed.
However, for perspective the current model goes for ₹7.46 lakh to ₹11.88 lakh (ex-showroom)
So, the price for this particular model could go higher.
