After the long anticipation, now the bustling city of Bengaluru is all set to welcome the Namma Metro Yellow Line in the city.

Yellow Line All Ready To Be Launched

This is going to be a transformative addition to the city’s urban transport network.

Namma Metro Yellow Line is scheduled to be launched in late January 2025.

It is a 19.15 km metro line connecting RV Road to Bommasandra, offering smoother and faster commutes for thousands of residents.

This project is constructed with a budget of ₹5,745 crore.

It is expected to improve access to the key areas like Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City.

This would make travel across the southern industrial and residential zones of Bengaluru more efficient.

Yellow Line Highlights

One of the highlights of this metro line is the Jayadeva Hospital station as it is set to be India’s tallest metro station at a height of 39 meters.

As per their plan, this is a six-level marvel which will act as an interchange hub for the Yellow and Pink Lines.

Further, it would ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers by offering an underpass, road, flyover, concourse, and platforms.

Commencements Of Yellow Line

Initially, three trains will be operated on the Yellow Line at 30-minute intervals, ensuring a smooth start to operations, as per the announcement of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).

They are planning to expand it to 36 trains in near future, including 15 six-coach sets, by August 2025

Equipped With Modern Technology and Enhanced Safety

When it comes to these coaches, they  are a blend of international expertise and domestic production, with some manufactured in China and others in West Bengal.

In future they are planning to introduce advanced, driverless trains equipped with modern signalling, traction, and braking systems in Yellow Line.

Moving ahead, they have planned Safety inspections by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) for January 2025,.

This is to ensure that the metro adheres to the highest safety and passenger convenience standards.
