According to his complaint, he created a dating app profile on January 5.
Soon after joining the app, he received a friend request from a woman who introduced herself as Ishani.
They began chatting, slowly sharing personal information with each other.
The conversation later moved to private messaging after they exchanged mobile numbers.
A few days later, the woman started a video call and allegedly appeared nude on camera.
She then asked the victim to remove his clothes as well, and he complied, not realizing it was a setup.
During the video call, the fraudsters secretly recorded explicit footage of the victim.
Shortly afterward, the accused sent the private video clips to the victim through WhatsApp.
They threatened to share the videos with his family, friends, and on social media unless he paid them money.
Victim Transfers Rs 60,000, Then Rs 93,000 to Fraudsters
Out of fear of public humiliation, the victim first transferred Rs 60,000 to bank accounts provided by the accused.
He later sent an additional Rs 93,000 to the same accounts.
When the fraudsters continued demanding more money, the victim decided to approach the police and file a complaint.
During the initial investigation, police discovered that the dating profile was fake and created using AI technology.
Investigators also suspect that the nude woman seen during the video call was not a real person but an AI-generated figure.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the cybercriminals involved.
