As per the Reserve Bank’s holiday list, the month of April shall see as many as 14 bank holidays in different states including Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays.
Hence, the customers have been asked to check these holiday list in the state for all bank related works.
April 2024 bank holidays
Below are various holidays for which the banks will closed for in April 2024:
- Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday/Jumat-ul-Vida
- Gudhi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra
- Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr)
- Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival
- Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day
- Shree Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain)
- Garia Puja.
Statewise Bank Holidays
- April 1, 2024: On this day, other than the states like Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya, banks shall remain closed in other states.
- April 5, 2024: Banks shall be closed on Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday/Jumat-ul-Vida
- April 9 (Tuesday)- Banks are closed in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Manipur, Goa, Jammu and Srinagar
- April 10 (Wednesday)- Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr): It is a bank holiday in Kerala
- April 11 (Thursday)- Other than the states of Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh, Banks shall remain close on Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) (1st Shawaal).
- April 13 (second Saturday)- Banks shall remain close in Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Jammu and Srinagar for Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival.
- April 15 (Monday)- Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day: Banks are closed in Assam and Himachal Pradesh.
- April 16 (Tuesday)- Shree Ram Navami – There is a bank holiday in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, HImachal Pradesh.
- April 20 (Third Saturday)- Garia Puja: Banks are closed in Tripura.
