Recently Apple declared its vintage list by adding as many as six devices to it including the iPhone 8, the 2013 Mac Pro, a few iPads and more.

Apple Updating Its Vintage Product List

This simply indicates that Apple will be stopping all kinds of support for these devices.

Apple No Longer Supports iPhone 8, MacBook Pro 2013 & More Devices

In case you own any of these devices and if they suddenly stop working then Apple doesn’t guarantee hardware replacements considering this latest update.

Usually a device is considered “vintage” five years after it was last distributed for sale as per the Apple’s Support page.

It appears that the support has ended as the iPhone maker assumes that these products have been in the market for too long and most of the people would have stopped using them.

Among the list of products you can find, 2013 Mac Pro, again one of the most-talked-about Apple products at the time of its launch considering its bold cylindrical shape.

Out of these, the 2013 Mac Pro was sold until December 2019, when the redesigned Mac Pro was introduced.

It seems that the former’s closed layout made it challenging to upgrade, so the company dumped it in 2019.

So after discontinuing it for more than five years finally, Apple has officially placed the 2013 model on its vintage list.

Besides the 2013 Mac Pro, Apple has placed the 2019-launched 13-inch MacBook Air, 2019 iMac, 2018 11-inch iPad Pro, and 2018 third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro into Apple’s vintage products list.

In addition to this, the iPhone 8 with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage which was one of the last iPhones to feature the physical home button have also joined the vintage list.

iPad Pro 12.9 inch (3rd Generation) Wi-Fi +

Please note here that these products can still be used but Apple will not offer any hardware support or spare parts for them.

If you are unaware, Apple keeps on updating its list of vintage and obsolete products  regularly under its support policy.

Here mentioned obsolete products are those that have been discontinued for more than seven years.

So, these products are not eligible to get any hardware services or assistance.

In case of Mac laptops, they may be eligible for an extended battery-only repair for up to 10 years from the date of their last distribution for sale, according to Apple.
