Apple Introduces India-Specific Features In iOS 18: Check Full Details!

After much speculation regarding Apple’s upcoming operating system update for eligible iPhone models, iOS 18 is expected to arrive later this year with features tailored to users in India. 

Apple Introduces India-Specific Features In iOS 18: Check Full Details!

The newly launched iOS will come with the new customisation options, along with improved language support for the default keyboard, Siri, and Translate app. 

Besides these, iOS 18 will also be offered with improved controls for users who have two phone numbers. 

As it is already known that the developer betas of iOS 18 and other operating system updates from the company are already available to test.

So, we are expecting it to roll out to users in the coming months.

What To Expect With An Upgrade To iOS 18?

The users will be able to access a new toggle in the redesigned control center, that can switch between two SIMs on an iPhone once updating to iOS 18.

Apple is bringing the experience on par with most Android smartphones that also allow users to switch between their primary and secondary SIM cards.

Besides this, some features such as Live Voicemail Transcription and Live Caller ID, which were introduced on iOS 17 are also making their way to users in India on iOS 18. 

With the help of this feature, users are allowed to see a real-time transcription of what a caller is saying, when a call is sent to voicemail. 

In addition to this, they will also introduce T9 searching and dialing support, along with improvements to call history searches.

Changes On Lock Screen & Contact Posters

With this upgrade, users will be able to modify their Lock Screen clock to display the time in numerals using 12 Indian languages.

Besides this, the users will also be able to customize the font weight and color, while setting up the Lock Screen and their Contact Poster. 

Apple lets users pick from English, Arabic (Indic), Devanagiri, Khmer, and Burmese numerals, and the list is set to expand to include more languages later this year with iOS 17 upgrade.

The future update will have support for Arabic, Arabic Indic, Bangla, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Meitei, Odia, Ol Chiki, and Telugu.
