The Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 trains now have 12 major enhancements thanks to the Ministry of Railways.
The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) will produce 50 Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 trains over the course of the following two years.
Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 Trains To Have 12 Major Enhancements
Alongside General Manager U Subba Rao, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted an inspection of the ICF. Vaishnaw underlined that public service should take precedence over political considerations in state governments.
The Railway Ministry and the central government are dedicated to putting policies into place that benefit the general public. He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced Amrit Bharat Version 1.0 in January 2024.
Twelve enhancements have been added to Version 2.0 based on the lessons learned from Version 1.0:
- Semi-automatic couplers.
- Modular toilets.
- Chair pillars and partitions.
- Emergency talk-back feature.
- Emergency brake system.
- The continuous lighting system is similar to that of Vande Bharat trains.
- Seats and berths with new ergonomic designs.
In Amrit Bharat Version 2.0, the pantry car has undergone a complete redesign. The trains are designed to give low-income and low-middle-income families access to high-quality, reasonably priced transportation.
50 Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 Trains To Be Manufactured In Coming Two Years
Vaishnaw stated, “50 such Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 trains would be manufactured in the coming two years… This will provide a very affordable service and very high quality of traveling experience to people travelling long distances.”
Vaishnaw addressed concerns about the Pamban Bridge in Rameswaram by stating that the design was based on guidelines established by the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO).
He pointed out that the Pamban Bridge needs special design and construction because it is not a typical bridge.
In an effort to reduce train accidents, the Railways equipped 10,000 locomotives with the KAVACH system. 15,000 kilometers of track-side fittings are being installed in addition to KAVACH.
As part of the railway upgrades, telecom towers are being constructed. To improve safety and surveillance, cameras are being mounted on the front of locomotives.
