MMT Launches Part Payment Option
MakeMyTrip launched a “Part Payment Option” in January for booking international flights, enabling users to confirm their reservations with just 10% to 40% of the total cost up front.
The remaining amount must be paid in full, without incurring additional fees, 45 days prior to the departure date or before the travel date, whichever comes first.
Depending on the airline, travel industry, and booking timeline, different upfront payments are needed.
The goal of the feature is to reduce financial strain, especially for large families and groups that might find it difficult to make full upfront payments.
Subject to fare regulations, passengers who choose to pay in installments may change their confirmed reservations after making the full payment.
When booking expensive international flights, families, couples, and single people are increasingly using this payment option.
