Bharti Airtel has ended its Perplexity Pro subscription benefit, marking the conclusion of a digital perk it had offered to customers as part of its service bundles. The offer, which provided free access to advanced AI features typically worth around ₹17,000 per year, is no longer available to new or existing subscribers who hadn’t claimed it before the deadline.

What the Perplexity Pro Offer Was
When it launched in mid-2025, Airtel partnered with Perplexity AI to give its 360 million mobile, Wi-Fi and DTH users a complimentary one-year Perplexity Pro subscription. This plan included premium AI capabilities such as enhanced search, access to powerful language models, deep research and analysis tools — all delivered through the Perplexity platform.
The promotion was positioned as a significant value addition for Airtel subscribers, helping differentiate its digital service offerings in a competitive telecom landscape. The benefit was redeemable through the Airtel Thanks app, and eligibility applied to both new and existing customers within the promotional window.
Offer Ended as Originally Planned
The Perplexity Pro benefit was always designed as a limited-time promotional offer. Airtel’s original terms stated that the free subscription could be claimed until January 16, 2026, after which it would no longer be available for activation. When that deadline passed, the operator removed the offer from its prepaid plan listings and digital portals, meaning users can no longer claim the benefit going forward.
What Happens to Existing Users
Customers who redeemed the Perplexity Pro subscription before the expiry date will continue to enjoy access for up to one year from their activation date. This ensures that users who signed up in time can benefit from the premium AI features even after the offer has been discontinued. However, users who didn’t claim the benefit before the deadline won’t be able to activate it now.
Billing and Subscription Notes
Some users encountered prompts to update billing information while redeeming the offer, as the terms required entering payment details to start the subscription. If users fail to cancel in time after the free period, the subscription could auto-renew at a cost — an important consideration for those no longer interested in using Perplexity Pro.
Airtel’s New Digital Benefits
To replace the Perplexity Pro offer, Airtel has introduced new digital perks, such as free access to Adobe Express Premium for prepaid and fixed broadband customers. This shift reflects Airtel’s evolving strategy in customer engagement, focusing on creative and productivity tools alongside traditional connectivity services.
