Bharti Airtel has launched a ground-breaking AI-powered security platform designed to block fraudulent websites in real time, marking a global first in telecom-led cybersecurity solutions. Initially rolled out in Haryana, the service will be extended across India soon. The platform works across popular communication channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, email, SMS, and web browsers, offering users broad-spectrum protection.

Airtel’s AI Engine Blocks Scam Sites with High Accuracy After Six-Month Trial

The system leverages a multi-layered AI engine that analyzes internet traffic, taps into global threat intelligence repositories, and matches inputs with Airtel’s internal database of known scam sources. When a user tries to access a flagged site, the system blocks the attempt and provides an on-screen notification explaining the risk.

The security tool has been in development for over six months, during which it underwent extensive internal testing and refinement. Airtel claims it has achieved a high level of accuracy in identifying threats during the trial period.

Airtel Rolls Out Free AI Scam Shield for Users

Airtel’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Gopal Vittal emphasized the company’s commitment to protecting users in a rapidly evolving digital threat landscape. He stated that the AI solution will offer customers peace of mind while browsing, helping them avoid scams and fraudulent content. Notably, this service is being offered at no extra cost and will be automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers—no manual activation is required.

This launch comes as digital fraud cases surge in India, evolving from OTP-related scams and spam calls to sophisticated phishing attacks and fake websites. Airtel’s move is aimed at staying ahead of such threats and providing a secure digital experience to its users. The company intends to keep improving the platform as it gathers more data and strengthens its threat detection capabilities.

Summary:

Bharti Airtel has launched a free AI-powered security platform to block scam websites in real time across communication channels. After six months of trials, it achieved high accuracy. The service, starting in Haryana, will roll out nationwide and be auto-enabled for all users, enhancing protection amid rising digital frauds.
