The upcoming merger between Air India and Vistara on November 12, 2024, brings notable changes for frequent fliers, especially those enrolled in Vistara’s loyalty program, Club Vistara. As Club Vistara merges into Air India’s Flying Returns program, members can look forward to updates to loyalty points, membership statuses, and co-branded credit card benefits.

Transitioning Club Vistara Members to Air India’s Flying Returns

Club Vistara members will be automatically allocated new Flying Returns IDs. For those with existing Flying Returns accounts, Air India will allow data migration upon authorization. New Flying Returns accounts will be created for members without one, ensuring a smooth transition.

Club Vistara (CV) points will shift into Air India’s system at a 1:1 ratio, even including points initially set to expire in September and October 2024. These converted points will have a minimum one-year validity from the transition date. Following the merger, members will continue earning Flying Returns points, with their existing membership tiers preserved for one year.

The merger also expands reward redemption options for members. As Air India is part of the Star Alliance, former Vistara members will secure access to more than 20 international airline partners, providing broader travel benefits.

Vistara Co-Branded Credit Card Benefits and Loyalty Perks Post-Merger

For holders of Vistara co-branded credit cards, benefits will largely stay the same until March 31, 2026. Cardholders are advised to renew annual memberships by March 31, 2025, although particular deadlines may differ. Additionally, starting November 12, 2024, Vistara co-branded cardholders will enjoy extra perks, such as complimentary ticket vouchers and upgrade vouchers, beside their existing card benefits. Cardholders will keep their current membership tiers for one year following the merger.

Ultimately, the Air India-Vistara merger promises both new opportunities and a degree of continuity for loyal customers. With enhanced access to an international network and familiar advantages, members can look forward to a more extensive rewards program while maintaining many perks they valued with Vistara.

Summary

The Club Vistara members have been transitioned to the Flying Returns program, post the Air India-Vistara merger on November 12, 2024, while retaining membership tiers and a 1:1 points transfer. The members gain access to the Star Alliance’s network, expanded reward options, and additional perks for co-branded cardholders. Supporting a seamless integration experience, the key benefits include co-branded card rewards, which will continue until March 2026.
